Innovation Lab
Classical concerts of the future. The audiences of the future. The musicians of the future.
Welcome to Innovation Lab.
Are you a classical musician or a producer in this field?
If so, read further.

Innovation Lab
Innovation Lab is taking a close look at the classic concert and creating a shared space where we can develop new live formats together.
Maybe you play in an ensemble and feel that you’re ready to try something new. Maybe you’re looking for people to create new projects with. Or perhaps you’re constantly coming up with ideas for concerts, venues and audience experiences, but lack a place to test them in practice.
In Innovation Lab, we bring together 20–25 people from the world of classical music for five intensive labs, where we develop and test new live formats together. We work with concrete experiments, feedback and cross-disciplinary collaboration to explore how music, spaces, audiences and relationships can be reimagined in new ways.
You don’t need to bring a fully formed idea. The important thing is that you’re curious about what the concerts of the future might look like, for both musicians and audiences.
The programme will be held in English, so you can also attend if you don’t speak Danish.

1. Ideas and concepts
The programme begins with five workshops featuring presentations by Rasmussen Nordic (Søren Mikael Rasmussen and Cecilie Nielsen). Building on this, the participants will develop a new concert format, which will be further developed in phase 2 and tested in front of an audience in phase 3.
2. Mentors and qualifications
Participants are paired with professional and experienced producers and key figures from the classical music scene, who help to refine and further develop their ideas. Each team receives a mentoring programme consisting of four 2-hour sessions focusing on artistic direction, audience experience, production and realisation.
3. Testing and presentation
The concert formats are being tested at DKDM.
A sum of 10,000 kr. has been allocated per team to present their concert format, which will be tested at a networking event for the industry. Here, the audience and invited industry professionals will have the opportunity to experience the new concert formats and meet the participating musicians and producers behind the projects.

Lab 2. 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
The golden idea for the right audience.
The golden ideas are taking shape. Who are the audience of the future, and what do they want?
We all have our own way of learning to love music. The ideas become concrete as we choose the right target audiences for future concerts and shape the ideas to help the target audience get to the concert.
We finally choose the target audience, the best ideas, and start shaping them.
